ALNC's Founder and President
Deborah Barnard is President of Advanced Legal Nurse Consultants, Inc. She has the distinction of being a Legal Nurse Consultant, Certified (LNCC) and a Certified Professional of Utilization Review (CPUR). Deborah brings to the medical/litigation team:
Nine years of Legal and Insurance Experience with over 9000 hours as a Legal Nurse Consultant. She has:
- Handled medical malpractice, personal injury, worker's compensation, nursing home litigation, class action suits and toxic torts.
- Performed catastrophic and rehabilitative case management including telephonic, task and full case management services.
- Performed extensive medical bill audits, bill re-pricing and future medical cost projections.
- Completed extensive nurse medical reviews for legal and insurance cases.
- Identified the need for experts and located and qualified those experts.
- Coordinated and reported the findings from independent medical examinations, functional capacity evaluations and permanent impairment rating visits.
- Education: Registered Nurse, Board Certified Legal Nurse Consultant, and Certified Professional of Utilization Review. Previous certification in ACLS. As Director of Nursing Education she has co-authored, implemented and taught multiple Standards of Care for the Home Health Industry.
- Clinical Nursing Experience: 15 plus years in cardiac and neurology intensive care and step down, orthopedics, pulmonology, oncology, infusion therapy, diabetic, and home health care. She specialized in cardiac nursing and infusion therapy.
- Nursing Management Experience: She Served as Vice President of Patient Services, National Quality Assurance Manager, National Accreditation (JACHO, Medicare and State) Manager, and Medicare/Managed Care Supervisor.
