Distinct from a paralegal or legal assistant, the LNCC is a unique and valuable medical member of the litigation team. The paralegal is an expert in legal document construction, where as a LNCC brings specialized nursing education and nursing clinical expertise to the medically related issues of the litigation process. Paralegals can organize the medical records, but they cannot abstract or analyze all the key medical data that a LNCC can.
