A tradition has existed to maintain confidential communications between physician, nurse and patient for a very long time. In fact, Legal Nurse Consulting Principles and Practices, state that this confidentiality between physician and patient has been an accepted practice since Hippocrates:

"Whatsoever things I see or hear concerning the life of men, in my attendance on the sick, or even apart there from, which ought not be noised abroad, I will keep silence thereon, counting such things to be as sacred secrets"

The right to confidential communications also extends to the written record and includes unauthorized release of information. The Supreme Court has determined that this is guaranteed to each individual per by the U.S. Constitution. Beyond HIPPA guidelines, ALNC is bound by the professional standards set forth by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and the American Bar Association (ABA). ALNC vows to always protect your right to privacy and confidentiality.

All personal client information is restricted to only Advanced Legal Nurse Consultants, Inc and its affiliates.
