FEE SCHEDULE...

Legal Nurse Consultant Services:

ALNC charges $80.00 an hour for insurance industry services for:

  • Medical records organization and review
  • Identifying and obtaining needed but missing medical records and bills
  • Reports to adjuster/physician reviewer including pre-existing medical conditions, description of accident, accumulative narrative of medical treatment post incident, questions for physician expert to answer.
  • Summarization of physicians and chiropractor's findings
  • Medical bill audit and spreadsheet for duplicate charges, medically unnecessary treatment, bundling, and related versus non related charges. 
  • Case Management written progress reports
  • Reports delineating projected duration of care, time off work, work restrictions, maximum medical improvement time frame and impairment ratings via Industry Guidelines
  • Set-up and attendance at physician visits, IME, Functional Capacity Evaluations and Impairment Rating visits while acting as case manager
  • Future medical cost projections (done at $90.00/hour with minimum of 4 hours)

 

ALNC charges $90.00 for attorney litigation services, including:

  • Medical records organization
  • Preparation of medical abbreviations and terminology
  • Initial Case Merit Review (minimum of 4 hours and depends on amount of medical records involved)
  • In-Depth Case Analysis Review and Summary Report including
    Meritorious standing
    Identifying injuries sustained
    Identifying pre-existing, contributory and causation issues
    Identifying Adherence or Deviation from Standards of Care, Policies and Procedures and Accreditation Standards
    Identifying missing medical records/bills needed
    Identifying Standards of Care, Policies and Procedures and Risk Management Tools to request
    Identifying areas of exposure, listing allegations, or refuting allegations leveled
    Identifying key players in case
    Identifying strengths and weaknesses of case
    Identifying inconsistent findings.
  • Preparation of chronologies (main chronology of all events, or breaking down into key issue(s) chronologies)
  • Medical Literature and Standards of Care Searches (Minimum of 4 hours for review and oral presentation. In-depth review with written report correlating issues of case to literature findings begin at 8-10 hours and may take more hours depending on number and types of issues involved). 
  • Reports delineating projected duration of care, time off work, work restrictions, maximum medical improvement time frame and impairment ratings via Industry Guidelines
  • Set-up, attendance at physician visits, and summary reports for defense IME, Functional Capacity Evaluations and Impairment Rating visits

 

ALNC charges $100.00 an hour for preparation of:

  • Question development for depositions, mediation, trial
  • Timeline of events
  • Trend Analysis Data Sheets
  • Graphic interpretation of trend analysis data sheets
  • Demonstrative Evidence Exhibits
  • Injury Schematic Exhibits
  • Trial Exhibits and presentations including juror packets
  • Power Point trial presentation
  • Future medical cost projections
  • Attendance and report from plaintiff Indepenent Medical Examination (average case fee is $350 to $400 and includes a brief synopsis of care, travel time, wait time, exam attendance, report generation, critique of IME physician report). Can function as rebuttal fact witness, but then would fall into testifying charges).

ALNC Expert Search charges are around:

  • $400 to $800 for testifying MD's depending on their credentials and your needs (includes identifying and qualifying expert, making sure they are board certified, obtaining their fee schedule and curriculum vitae and doing background, testifying and conflict checks) 
  • $250 to $500 for expert testifying nurses (this includes obtaining their CV, fees, conflict check and making sure they are board certified)

 

ALNC charges $160.00 an hour plus expenses for presence at:

  • Deposition
  • Mediation
  • Trial as fact expert witness 
  • Some associates have different fee schedules than those listed here.

 

ALNC charges new LNC's $80.00 per hour for one-on-one mentoring sessions (but not greater than $500/day) including assistance with medical malpractice, personal injury, workers compensation, literature and standards of care review and expert witness searches.

ALNC will charge $65.00 a session for telephonic bridge classes. 


All professional services are billed out as listed above and require a $500.00 retainer for the initial review, as well as a signed consulting agreement. A specific case letter of agreement, known as "Services Requested and Agreed Upon" will be forwarded to the attorney client for signature. The retainer and agreement should accompany the medical records or instructions for review. 

Additional time spent on the file will be billed out on at least a monthly basis and further additional retainers maybe requested for additional services. Invoices are due and payable upon receipt, and any unpaid balance past 30 days will be assessed a 1.5% per month interest fee.
